The General Company for Cotton Yarn in Hama recorded a remarkable increase in the value of its sales in the last eight months of this year, reaching 3 billion and 900 million pounds.
The director of the company, Engineer Samer Al-Tayyar, stated in a statement to SANA that the sales value resulted from the sale of 1,691 tons of cotton yarn at a value of 3 billion and 653 million pounds in addition to the sale of 617 tons of exhaust valued at 246 million pounds, indicating that the quantities of production and sales achieved were good compared to the difficult conditions that were encountered. The productive process, such as securing work and production requirements, due to the coercive measures imposed on Syria.
Al-Tayyar expected that production and marketing rates would increase in the coming months with the start of the infrastructure work to install the two turbine spinning machines to produce turbine cotton yarns, to keep pace with developments in the cotton yarn industry, diversify the product, and reduce maintenance costs and spare parts needed by old machines.
He pointed out that the company continues to manufacture the knitted cotton machines received from the governorate's gins, amounting to 1901 tons, to produce the stripped and combed cotton threads that have the best specifications, especially from the 20 and 24 tigers, which are witnessing a great demand in the local market.
