The planned birthday break fell victim to the corona pandemic.

But the LBB defies the nasty virus.

  • The Loisachtaler Bauernbühne (LBB) has existed for 40 years this year.

  • The corona pandemic thwarted all plans of amateur actors.

  • But the LBB did not give up: Now is the premiere date for "Huif Kini huif".

Wolfratshausen

- rehearsing and performing stage plays - how should that work in times of pandemics?

Is it even allowed to kiss in a love scene that is always part of it?

The Loisachtaler Bauernbühne (LBB) celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

There should be a big birthday party in July.

But then the lockdown came, after which there was a standstill at LBB.

"We are actors, we want to be on stage."

Melanie Tobian, chairwoman of the Loisachtaler Bauernbühne

The chairmen used the time to think about how things should continue in the longer term.

"We are actors, we want to be on stage," says LBB boss Melanie Tobian emphatically.

The decision was made promptly: "We'd rather plan the worst case than start from the ideal case" - meaning that the troops wanted to be prepared when things could start again.

All amateur actors are volunteers

After all, according to Tobian, the income from around eleven performances every autumn in the Geretsried council chambers is vital for the theater association.

He has to pay the rent for the rehearsal room, props and costumes cost money, the insurance fee is due.

The amateur actors, on the other hand, play purely on a voluntary basis.

In order to be prepared for an infection, a hygiene concept had to be drawn up for the samples in the basement, with a mask requirement, disinfection, ventilation and an attendance list.

"A real effort, because the regulations can change again every day," says Vice-Chef Christian Foitzik.

Premiere of the new piece on October 9th

At the beginning of June the time had come: the weekly rehearsals for the current piece “Huif Kini, huif” started.

This year, seven of them play the Schwank, in which the legendary Bavarian monarch will appear.

Are there corona tests before each sample?

“No, that's not a requirement.

We start from the personal responsibility of our teammates, ”explains Foitzik.

The premiere is planned for October 9th.

This year only with meticulously worked out 72 to 94 audience seats, which the former chairman Franz Foitzek planned true to scale on a paper model.

"We will make sure that the mask requirement and distance regulations are adhered to," says Christian Foitzek.

There are only firm seat reservations and no box office.

LBB is optimistically rehearsing for the 2021 strong beer festival

To be on the safe side, the Loisachtaler Bauernbühne is also planning ahead for the strong beer festival next year.

Whether it takes place or not, however, is the decision of the city, so Tobian.

"We will definitely write a piece, but in a slimmed-down form." The LBB boss is a professional actress at the Munich Iberl stage, so she is also professionally affected by the pandemic: "If we can't play actors, we don't make any money" , makes Tobian clear.

The corona crisis is one “theater” for the stage industry.
