The renovation of the old pharmacy is getting closer.

The building committee has now unanimously given its consent for the building project as well as for the necessary change of use.

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn

- The municipal council gave the green light for the renovation of the old pharmacy.

Luitgart Dittmann-Chylla (Greens) was relieved that the project is now moving forward.

Peter Guggenberger (CSU) was also satisfied that the renovation of the building on Bahnhofstrasse was being implemented.

But he was “shocked” by the forecast high construction costs.

As soon as a reliable cost estimate is available, you should question this and look for savings opportunities.

High funding for monument preservation measures to be expected.

Mayor Mindy Konwitschny (SPD) reminded that the building is a listed building.

"That makes a lot of money," she said.

You really take a lot of money in your hand, said Gudrun Hackl-Stoll (Greens).

But it's worth it.

After all, the old pharmacy is defining the place.

Like Otto Bußjäger (UB), she supported the suggestion to look for potential savings.

The latter also hopes for funding.

There is, confirmed construction authority employee Stefan Piehlmaier.

There has already been a funding date with the government of Upper Bavaria and the State Office for Monument Protection.

Funding in the amount of 200,000 euros is expected for monument conservation measures alone.

The urban development funding amounts to 30 or 60 percent, depending on the floor.

"This is a well-funded building," was Konwitschny's conclusion.

Meeting center with citizens' meeting point and large day care planned

As reported, the municipality wants to transform the old pharmacy into a meeting center with a meeting point for citizens after the renovation.

The parents' initiative Zwergerlstube, which up to now has offered parent-child groups and a play area, but also wants to set up a large day care facility, will also be accommodated there.

An architect presented the renovation concept in July.

At that time he forecast building costs of a good two million euros.

Construction work is scheduled to begin early next year.
