The Penzberg “ice fairy tale” is to take place despite the corona pandemic, but with a number of restrictions.

The administrative, finance and social committee decided on Wednesday evening.

Only 150 skaters are allowed on the ice at the same time.

Penzberg - The hygiene concept approved on Wednesday evening stipulates that no more than 150 ice skaters are allowed to be on the 600 square meter ice rink and another 50 visitors at the delicacy market at the same time.

Originally, Thomas Sendl, head of the city's cultural department, suggested allowing 200 on the ice and 50 on the market.

On Wednesday, however, the committee approved the lower number - which also corresponds to a recommendation from the District Office that was received shortly before the meeting.

For comparison: According to Sendl, last winter never more than 500 visitors were on the ice and at the market at the same time.

Ice fairy tale start on the second weekend in Advent - later than 2019

It should start on Saturday, December 5th, the second weekend in Advent.

That's a week later than last year.

All in all, the “ice fairy tale” should last 37 days again: until the end of the Christmas holidays on Sunday, January 10th.

However, the city reserves the right to change the visitor limit.

According to Sendl, this depends on the current infection rate and the guidelines of the state government.

He sees an advantage in the later beginning.

So “Eismärchen” and the Christmas market - if it takes place - cannot get in each other's way.

A decision about the Christmas market on the first weekend in Advent is to be made at the beginning of October.

Mayors from the district then want to find a uniform regulation.

Ice fairy tale: the area at Penzberger Stadtplatz is fenced off

The hygiene concept for the “ice fairy tale” also includes fencing off the area on the town square.

Visitors must give their name and telephone number at the entrance - he is at the town hall this time - so that chains of infection can be traced if necessary.

It is also noted who goes on the ice rink and sells the tickets.

In order to keep track of how many people are on the premises, the people who leave the fenced area are counted by a light barrier.

There will be no events like the ice disco.

“This year it's all about ice skating,” says Sendl.

According to him, the opening times should be like last winter.

Contactless disinfectant dispensers for the hands are set up.

Borrowed ice skates are disinfected after each use.

This should also happen regularly in the changing area.

In addition, three more security guards would be hired.

The catering stands should be distributed in such a way that queues are straightened out when queuing.

The city wants to forego national advertising.

Ice fairy tale in Penzberg: District Office promises a special permit

Sendl presented the concept to the administrative, finance and social committee on Wednesday evening.

The agenda item, which was originally supposed to be discussed behind closed doors, was moved to the public part at the request of Kerstin Engel (Greens).

Sendl reported that the district office had promised an exemption after examining the concept.

It recommends 200 visitors, but could probably make friends with 250.

He also said that because of the restrictions, higher expenditure (170,000 euros) and lower income (80,000 euros) can be expected.

This would result in a loss of 90,000 euros.

Last year it was around 23,000 euros.

However, the higher minus plays no role in the committee.

All groups praised the concept.

The "ice fairy tale" is important especially for the children and young people who have had to forego physical education this year, it said.

It was suggested to ensure that no high-percentage alcohol is served and that the issue and return of rental skates is separated.
