The defendant Jiang Lizhen (34 years old), a former human resources director of Qiao Xiong International, was charged with one count of attempted fraud, violating section 16A of the Theft Ordinance and section 159G of the Criminal Offences Ordinance.

The defendant will plead at the Eastern Magistracy next Tuesday (22nd).

Photography service provider to undertake work for 1,500 yuan

The defendant was the human resources director of Qiao Xiong International at the time of the case and was responsible for preparing a company event to be held on September 11, 2018, which required photography services.

A photography service provider agreed to take on the job for 1,500 yuan.

The charge alleges that between September 12 and October 3, 2018, the defendant falsely claimed to Qiao Xiong International in its application for reimbursement of expenses that two sums totaling 4,500 yuan had been paid to the aforementioned photography service provider, with the intention Fraud attempts to induce Qiaoxiong to approve the application, which leads to her gaining benefits, or Qiaoxiong International suffers disadvantages.

It is reported that the photography service provider never received the above-mentioned payment of RMB 4,500, but the defendant had transferred RMB 1,500 to the proprietor of the supplier on September 19, 2018.

The ICAC received a corruption complaint earlier and revealed the suspected crime after investigation.

Qiao Xiong International provided full assistance during the ICAC investigation.

The defendant has been granted bail by the ICAC, pending the hearing next Tuesday.
