Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor participated in the 2020 Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Cooperation Executive Heads Joint Meeting in the form of a video conference today (18th), and related officials also attended.
At the meeting, Lam Zheng discussed with the administrative heads of the Pan-Pearl River Delta on the post-epidemic era to jointly promote the high-quality development of Pan-Pearl River Delta regional cooperation, build a modern transportation network, and jointly build a system integration innovation platform.
Lin Zheng stated that the construction of the Greater Bay Area is a major development strategy under the reform and opening up of the country in the new era. It will drive the development of the Pan-Pearl River Delta; active participation in the development of the Greater Bay Area is the key direction for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to restore economic momentum after the epidemic.
She again thanked the Central Government and the Pan-Pearl Rivers Region for their support to Hong Kong, including Guangdong, Guangxi and Fujian sending support teams to assist the SAR government in successfully completing the national inspection for nearly 1.8 million Hong Kong residents.
Carrie Lam said that the development of the Greater Bay Area is the key direction for Hong Kong to restore economic momentum after the epidemic.

The meeting was held in Sanya City, Hainan Province. In order to deal with the prevention and control of the epidemic in Hong Kong, Lin Zheng stayed in Hong Kong to participate in the form of video.
Lam Cheng mentioned that the Hong Kong government has been actively strengthening Hong Kong's role in advancing the construction of the Greater Bay Area. The key areas include consolidating Hong Kong's position as an international aviation hub and promoting Hong Kong's high value-added maritime services.
She also said that professional services are Hong Kong's strengths, especially in financial and legal aspects. She hopes that Hong Kong's professional services can help Pan-Zhuhai companies open up larger overseas markets.
She also pointed out that the epidemic has highlighted the importance of developing and promoting technology applications, and also affirmed the potential of Hong Kong's technological innovation products and solutions to enter overseas markets, and strengthened Hong Kong's confidence in developing into an international technological innovation center in the Greater Bay Area; the Hong Kong government is moving forward Overseas markets, especially countries along the "Belt and Road", promote how Hong Kong can apply technology to fight the epidemic, and are also willing to share relevant experience with the Pan-Pearl River Delta.
The Pan-Pearl River Delta region covers nine inland provinces, including Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan, as well as Hong Kong and Macau.
