Thousands of workers demonstrated across France today to protest the reduction in the number of jobs due to the closure measures linked to the spread of the new Corona virus.
The European News Network reported that the protests began after the company (Bridgestone) for the manufacture of auto parts announced its intention to close a factory in northern France, which means that more than 800 employees will lose their jobs.
Several other French companies, including Airbus, Renault Group and Sanofi, have reduced their number of jobs due to the economic repercussions resulting from the Corona virus.
The French supermarket chain Auchan also recently announced plans to lay off about 1,500 workers, despite continuing to work during the complete closure period to limit the spread of Corona in France.
The French Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies recently estimated that the unemployment rate in France would rise to 9.5 percent by the end of this year.
