A bizarre “car theft” case occurred in Tsim Sha Tsui.
At approximately 1:00 am on Saturday (19th), a taxi was reportedly crashing into the gate of the parking lot and fled while driving away from the Oksiu Ninh car park on Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.
Police officers arrived at the report and found the taxi involved in the case in the middle of the road from a public toilet at the junction of Kimberley Road, dozens of meters away.
Sources at the scene stated that there was a male driver in the car at the time. He claimed to drive the car away on behalf of a friend, but the police found out that he did not have a taxi license. After contacting the taxi owner to find out, they also confirmed that the car was not rented to the man .
After investigation, he was initially arrested on suspicion of "vehicle theft." The police are investigating the ins and outs of the incident.
The taxi involved stopped at the middle of the junction of Austin Road and Kimberley Road.
