The two squatters "
were arrested in the street and placed in police custody at 10:45 (...) following the complaint of the owner of the premises

The prefect of Nièvre Sylvie Houspic had announced on Thursday evening the imminent expulsion of these squatters whose actions scandalized the son of the owner and the inhabitants of this small village of 750 souls.
They were arrested for violating the home as well as for the damage committed inside the home of the octogenarian and for having used the electric current from the neighboring house.

The measure provides for amending the 2007 law on the right to enforceable housing (Dalo) by extending the notion of “
domicile
” in particular to secondary or occasional residences.
