Faced with the uncertainty of the future of TikTok in the United States, some users are rushing to save their own videos and those of their favorite creators.
The Commerce Department plans to ban downloads of TikTok, as well as the popular messaging app WeChat, starting Sunday, when the Trump administration's decrees pertaining to the two apps go into effect.
The department said on Friday that, starting Sunday, any movement to distribute or maintain TikTok or WeChat in an app store will be prohibited, meaning there will be no further downloads or updates.
If you didn't have your settings set to save TikTok videos to your device every time you posted a new video, you'll have to do it manually.

There are a few ways to do it.
The quickest way is to press and hold the video you want to save, whether it's yours or someone else's.
An option to "save video" will appear, allowing you to add it to your camera roll or share it via email or text message.
You can also hit the share button below the comment icon, which appears on the right side of the videos in the app.
From there, you can save the video to your camera roll or post it to other social media sites.
If you want to save videos that you liked in the past, you can go to your profile and click on the "heart" icon below the bio.
That tab shows an up-to-date list of all the videos you've 'liked'.
To ensure that all your videos are automatically saved in the future, enable the "save to device" option before posting a TikTok.
It will remember your selection the next time you post a video.
You can see their TikToks saved on your smartphone's camera roll.
