The restrictions on the corona closure that came into effect yesterday (Friday) changed the face of Rosh Hashanah and regulations were felt everywhere in Israel.

At least 7,000 police and soldiers were deployed and enforced the traffic restrictions and crowds that managed to drain hikers of beaches, parks and roads.

Haifa and the north do not remember such a quiet holiday.

As a rule, the public cooperated with the guidelines and stayed in homes, and only a few people were seen in the open areas and on the beaches.

The roads remained deserted and from time to time an ambulance, mobile or scooter passed by a restaurant.

A resident of the city whose house overlooks the Carmel towards the bay told Walla! NEWS that "such a holiday has not been remembered for years. Rosh Hashanah feels completely different. At the exit to the balcony you can hear the silence."

The Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya received an unfortunate reminder of the background to the closure: three more elderly people died in the corona wards during the holiday.

The corona wards there and at Rambam Hospital in Haifa are filling up.

In the southern district of the police, increased forces were deployed from Ashdod to Eilat from noon yesterday with the entry into force of the closure.

The police point out that the citizens seem to have internalized the closure regulations and there is almost no traffic on the southern roads, except for those who have a permit to do so.

It is also said in the southern district that the behavior of the citizens is exemplary, but in any case with the departure of the holiday the forces will be intensified to enforce the closure.

The Kinneret Cities Association stated that the closure was maintained and no unusual events were recorded on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, which this year were left empty of people.

In Eilat, too, the beaches were almost completely emptied of baths and no significant violations of the closure were recorded.
