These are the winners of the 2020 Gardel Awards

The Gardel Awards were held in which 41 categories were recognized. The virtual ceremony that had 16 presentations.

David Lebón was the absolute winner of the Gardel 2020 Awards with 6 statuettes for the album “Lebón & Co”, including the most anticipated recognition, “Gardel de Oro”.

The evening opened with Natalie Pérez and Ale Sergi, the hosts of the ceremony.

In this virtual evening, in which for the first time the nominations by gender were left behind and bringing together all the nominees for each category, 41 winners were recognized.

16 musical numbers throughout the two hours of duration with various collaborations such as Lali and Miranda;

Abel Pintos and Vicentico;

Escalandrum and Zoe Gotusso y Los Palmeras with the Mexican Lila Downs, among others.

This year marked a series of important changes, the triples were no longer divided by female / male gender;

more than 3,000 applications were received, which marked an absolute record in the last 4 years;

Each category was made up of 8 nominees and the category "Best Live Album" was added.

5 tributes were paid to iconic figures of Argentine music.

The first was for Ricardo Soulé and the celebration of the 50 years of his song «Present»;

the second to the life and work of Juan Carlos Saravia;

the third for the rock band Soda Stereo with a video of unpublished images from the recording of Canción «Animal» that turns 30;

the fourth was for Sandro, who turned 10 years after his death and the fifth was for Sergio Denis in the voice of Valeria Lynch, Poncho and Mariano Martínez and which served as a closing act.

Ale and Natalia were in charge of announcing the category of "Song of the Year", but the most anticipated shortlist of the night, "Album of the year / Gardel de Oro" was announced by Marilina Bertoldi, the winner of this shortlist in 2019, for Lebón & Co. David Lebón, the leader, thanked in a very emotional way: "I love you Patricia with all my heart, I hope you can feel it too."
