The first international flight to Colombia after restrictions due to covid-19, landed at the Cartagena airport on Saturday.
In a statement, Spirit Airlines said it would resume nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida, with a flight to Cartagena's Rafael Núñez International Airport on Saturday, adding that the airline will also resume flights to Bogotá, Medellín. and Cali from Fort.
Lauderdale starting Monday, September 21.
The airline requires that passengers traveling to Colombia present a "negative PCR test no more than 96 hours before the stipulated travel time."
Spirit also said it will require that all flights and crew members wear face covers, and that "enhanced cleaning procedures" are implemented between flights.

"Being the first airline to arrive in Colombia from abroad is a reminder of how strong our commitment to the country remains," the statement quoted Spirit Airlines president and CEO Ted Christie as saying.
