Accustomed to benefiting from a competitive euro for five years on commodity markets denominated in dollars, the French countryside is starting to worry.
For a year now, the euro has appreciated by 7% against the greenback.
This further penalizes the competitiveness of wheat, corn, barley and tricolor sugar on major export markets, which each year absorb 45% of their volumes.
