The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection will begin, during the month of October, to implement the new mechanism for selling sugar and rice allocations on the electronic card according to specific dates with text messages that reach citizens through their cellular devices.
The new mechanism depends on sending a text message that includes the date of receiving the materials from the hall specified by the citizen and he can choose it so that it is the closest to his place of residence or work, and accordingly he can buy his allocations from these two articles within two days from the date of the message’s arrival and in the event that he is unable to do so during the period He can return the application to take a new role, according to the statement of the Deputy Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Rifat Ali Suleiman, to the representative of SANA.
As for choosing the most appropriate lounge for each citizen to receive his allowances from, the hall is determined from the same application dedicated to receiving gas cylinders, which is available through the "Telegram" channel or the website of the electronic card project or via the USSD service at the number "9884 star square" or via "Wayne" mobile application, according to Suleiman, who explained that the number of text messages will be divided electronically according to the capacity of each terminal.
On the other hand, the allowance for the items of sugar and rice in each message that arrives will be the permissible quantity to be purchased for two months, and the citizen can choose to purchase the entire or part of the materials for one time during the current two-month cycle.
Suleiman emphasized that the aim of the mechanism is to simplify procedures for citizens, organize homes, obtain subsidized materials easily, and end the signs of congestion that occur when selling these materials.
In the event that a message arrives for the citizen to receive the materials and the staff of the specified hall refuses to sell him his allowances, the owner of the card can notify them electronically, so that the Ministry checks the case and takes deterrent measures against violators in the event that the violation is proven, while the citizen’s right remains preserved in his turn and receives immediately.
Among the additional measures to reduce congestion, according to Suleiman, is that mobile cars operating according to the "Master" system will be used to sell materials in remote areas or where there are no halls. Anyone who has received a message with the date of receiving the assigned materials and happened to be one of these cars can buy from them directly without going to the hall indicating That the quantities will be prepackaged by the Syrian Trade Corporation in bags of various quantities.
The necessary technical and technical arrangements are being prepared to put the service into actual work on the specified date, according to Suleiman, pointing out that the hall can be changed after each session, which is currently limited to two months.
