The Bahraini Interior Ministry has thwarted a series of terrorist attacks in the kingdom that planned to organize

two members of the Revolutionary Guards, Arab media reported today (Sunday).

The investigation revealed that terrorist operatives from Iran had set up a new terrorist organization called the Qassem Suleimani Companies, and intended to blow up several public and security structures in Bahrain.

It was also reported that the terrorist network had been following the security guards of important figures in the country with the aim of eliminating them in response to the killing of Qassem Suleimani.

According to Arab media, the security forces in Bahrain thwarted the terrorist plans after they discovered an explosive device on one of the streets in the al-Budiya area in the northeast of the kingdom.

According to the report, the explosive device was placed by terrorist operatives and was intended to hit a foreign delegation that had arrived in Bahrain for an official visit.

During this thwarting, one of the terrorists was caught in his apartment, where explosives, foreign coins and other incriminating items were found.

This thwarting was exposed as part of an indictment in court, filed against 19 fugitives from Iran.

The details of the investigation revealed that some of the squad commanders originally belonged to the "al-Eshtar companies", the military arm of the al-Wafa terrorist organization (the trust).

These managed to recruit several terrorist operatives in Bahrain with the assistance and supervision of members of the Revolutionary Guards.

The four commanders recruited 14 terrorists who had undergone military training in foreign camps and observed military bases in Bahrain, some of which belonged to foreign forces.

According to reports, the goal was to carry out a series of terrorist attacks and attribute them to a new terrorist organization.

One of the defendants admitted to training in Hezbollah battalions in Iraq, one of the Shiite militias affiliated with Iran.

Defendant said that after returning to Bahrain, he trained some of the defendants in the use of weapons at his residence in the north of the country.

He added that he had received some explosives and financial grants, which he had stored at his residence.

He said he was ordered to carry out terrorist attacks in 2019.

According to reports, the prosecution ruled that between 2017 and 2020, the defendants set up a terrorist group and planned terrorist attacks in order to thwart and disrupt the operation of Bahrain state institutions.
