The system of epidemiological investigations has in recent days begun to use a new computer system, "Ibn Yesod", which was developed in the ICT Division and significantly streamlines the work of epidemiological researchers.

Among other things, it is very user-friendly, and hundreds of researchers can work on it simultaneously.

The new system was developed in the ICT unit of the ICT department in the last three weeks. "We programmed until the middle of the night, people were sleeping in the office," said the unit's commander, Colonel Chen Golani.

The process of epidemiological investigations with the previous system was long and tedious.

"People abandoned the process because it was ineffective."

The development of the system was done under the army's "Alon" headquarters, whose main goal now is to interrupt the chains of infection.

As is well known, a significant part of the ability to do this is to improve the work of epidemiological researchers, and the new system programmed in the ICT Division is designed to help with this.

According to Colonel Golani, so far "many of the epidemiological researchers have worked manually, because the system did not work well. The system we developed is user-friendly, and dozens of people can work on it at the same time."

He said, "Everyone who has encountered our system is very pleased. It can be opened to hundreds of users at the same time, and it addresses the problem that exists today."

The name chosen for the system is "Even Yesod", after the name of the late Aryeh Even, the first corona in the country died. "We were looking for a significant name for the system.

"We saw that the first deceased in the country from Corona was the late Aryeh Even, so we called the system a 'basic stone'. It gave an energy shot to the family and the programmers," the officer noted.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health is currently developing a computerized epidemiological investigation system to be completed by citizens that will further facilitate the work of epidemiological researchers, as the electronic form to be filled out by citizens will reach researchers directly - and they will only be required to complete.

"We are supposed to get out of this quarantine with the two systems - our system and also a system for self-fulfillment," Colonel Golani clarified, but clarified that it is not suitable for all types of populations, especially not those who do not use the Internet.

"The mission is not over, and it will continue to accompany us," he noted.
