Censorship and mouth-watering under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture:

The Wikipedia entry of the director general of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nahum Itzkovich, was changed, and a paragraph was deleted mentioning a series of publications in "Israel Today" about alleged conflicts of interest in which Itzkovich is located. The request sent to Wikipedia contradicts the ministry's response in the past to "Israel Today."

Meanwhile, the organization "Our Interest" announced its intention to petition the High Court for the conflicts of interest in which Itzkovich allegedly finds himself. However, the Ministry of Agriculture, as stated, contacted Wikipedia and claimed: "The vile version published in this matter contradicts the facts and violates his rights and name "The good of the director general of the ministry in an unfair manner, therefore, I will seek to delete the paragraph in question again."

"Israel Today" has learned that the first deletion of the entry was the work of Oshera Gavrieli Yaakov, CEO of Itzkovich's consultant.

A paragraph deleted from Wikipedia referred to an advertisement in "Israel Today" from August 9 under the headline: "Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture holds egg quotas - no chicken coop." Wikipedia refrained from taking a position and contented itself with a concise report that accurately reflected the publication: "Because despite Itzkovich's personal income from egg quotas, he was allowed to engage in regulation of the industry," the deleted paragraph read.

Following this, it was claimed that the CEO is in a conflict of interest. "

The Ministry of Agriculture did not like the mention of the unflattering information, and even gave a Wikipedia education workshop along the way: "It is important for me to make it clear that the entries in Wikipedia are meant to represent facts and not opinions," the ministry said in a statement.

But it is clear that the fear of a conflict of interest is not an opinion but a solid fact.

Itzkovich himself approved the publication in "Israel Today", and in response to our request, the Ministry of Agriculture admitted that "the director general of the Ministry of Agriculture produces his quota at another tower."

The Ministry of Agriculture responded:

"The entries in Wikipedia are meant to represent facts and not opinions. In this case, the opinion that there is a conflict of interest, was examined and rejected by the Legal Department of the Ministry of Agriculture as well as the Attorney General ... The derogatory wording is contradictory to the facts. Violation of the rights and good name of the director general of the ministry.

Wikimedia Israel stated:

"The editors judge any additional information or delete it from the set according to strict criteria of relevance and reliability. Wikimedia Israel does not manage Wikipedia and has no authority to interfere with the content."
