This Monday's Google Doodle is dedicated to the Mexican-American journalist and activist Jovita Idár.

Born in Laredo, Texas, in 1885, she is recognized for being a pioneer in the fight for the civil rights of Mexican Americans.

Google's image recreates the scene in which she prevents the Texas Rangers, a special body of public security agents, from entering the newspaper El Progreso.
