Overcrowding in the classrooms in Hasaka schools and the suffering of students ’access to them.

SANA's correspondent in Hasaka monitored the condition of some schools in the city a week after the start of the new school year, as the camera documented how the practices of the “Qasd militia” led to the cramming of students in their classrooms with more than 70 students in a classroom, so some of them had to stand because there was no place to place Any additional seats at a time when the world is seeking to achieve spatial distancing to prevent the Corona epidemic.

Ahmed, a student in the first grade who travels 4 km a day to reach his school, which is located in the prefabricated school complex in the lobby of the Sports Institute, spontaneously says the Jazrawi phrase “My feet are swollen because I come from the outskirts of the Gweran neighborhood to the school in the city center.” Ahmed has to go on foot because the checkpoints The "Qasd" militia prevents the vehicles from transporting students and students and imposes heavy fines on them.

As for the 11-year-old student, he said, "All the schools in the neighborhood have taken over them and they do not allow anyone to approach them. Currently, we study in places far from the neighborhood and the classes are overcrowded, and we often do not find a place to sit in the classroom."

Omar’s situation is similar to the situation of thousands of children who are looking for a school, a school seat, games and an opportunity that parents have drawn in their imaginations, but the “Qasd” practices and violations eliminate childhood dreams and make education in the governorate a path fraught with daily dangers and difficulties and turn it into a daily journey of torment.

With the aim of stopping the educational process in the governorate and imposing its separatist agendas in implementation of the US occupation policy in support of it, the “Qasd” militia, by force of arms, according to the statistics of the Education Directorate in Al-Hasakah, took over 2,285 schools for all educational levels in the governorate, the last of which was shortly before the start of the new school year, the seizure of 118 secondary schools to remain. Only 179 schools run by the Hasakah Education Directorate for all educational levels, thus depriving about 100,000 students and pupils from education in violation of education rights guaranteed by international laws.

Teacher Nagham says: We know and are fully aware that the "Qasd militia" is the one who brought the schools of Hasakah to this catastrophic situation. Like the terrorist organizations that preceded them, they all tried to implement their agendas by force of arms and failed, and the "Qasd" militia will end sooner or later, but emergency solutions must contribute. In solving the problem of overcrowding, accommodating all pupils and students in schools and investing all available space, this is an appropriate response to the practices of the "Qasd militia".

Al-Hasakah Governorate had discussed with those concerned in the educational sector plans to accommodate all students and pupils in schools run by the Ministry of Education by finding new headquarters and buildings and equipping them as soon as possible to supplement existing schools in addition to granting temporary licenses to open new private schools or expand existing ones and organize attendance in them. Two shifts, morning and evening.

Educator Muhammad al-Ahmad confirms that the majority of students come from far away places daily in a way that reflects their determination and parents ’insistence on educating their children within government schools that adopt the curricula of the Ministry of Education and challenge the“ Qasd ”militia that wants to impose everything by force. They punish the owners of the vehicles if they transport students and pupils for that, the majority They come on foot and this is a great burden on them and their parents, who have to accompany them to and from school.

Teacher Rawaa offers solutions to accommodate students and the problem of overcrowding caused by the "Qasd" militia, calling for the investment of empty spaces in government headquarters, popular organizations and professional unions, dividing students into groups, and investing in private education and institutes' headquarters to open classrooms and investing even homes within neighborhoods until the schools problem is resolved.

The students ’families considered the practices of the“ Qasd militia ”a crime against thousands of children and youth and a threat to their future. They called for international and international intervention to stop these practices and open schools to children, accusing the United Nations bodies concerned with human rights of negligence and not interfering with what the“ Qasd militia ”committed against the people in the region and harassing them. .

In order to alleviate the effects and practices of the "Qasd militia" towards the closure of schools, the Director of Education, Ilham Sourkhan, explained that a number of measures have been taken, the most important of which is setting up a second shift in public and private schools, increasing the capacity of classrooms, converting some government buildings into educational complexes and expanding the establishment of prefabricated classrooms, noting That the owners of private institutes or linguistic laboratories who wish to teach pupils and students in the evening period are granted temporary licenses in addition to supporting home schools in which about 6 thousand students study and providing parents with books and school supplies while continuing to teach the curriculum category “B” to compensate pupils. Unable to reach public schools educational losses.
