Today, the People's Assembly continued its first session of the first ordinary session of the third legislative session, held under the chairmanship of Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Council, to discuss the ministerial statement, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, and a number of ministers.

During the interventions of the members of the Council about the statement, some of them saw that the statement was comprehensive and ambitious and needed to be applied urgently on the ground, while others considered that the language of the statement was constructive and was repeated and did not provide practical and quick solutions to the living crises facing citizens, in addition to not including timetables or implementation programs. .

A number of members called on the government to have greater transparency with citizens and to amend its statement in a manner commensurate with solving living issues, finding ambulance solutions, and taking urgent decisions that contribute to providing basic materials and oil derivatives, and applying justice in distribution, while another number renewed the demand to fold the decision obliging citizens to spend 100 dollars upon entry into the country. .

In their interventions, members called for the confirmation of temporary workers in the state, noting that some of them had been appointed for 15 years without confirmation, such as forestry workers and the fruitful afforestation project, and to work on providing fodder at reduced prices in order to reduce the prices of meat and milk.

Some members talked about the need to reform the customs system and fight corruption and the importance of making citizens truly the compass of government work, calling for an increase in the universities ’budget and more attention to strategic crops to dispense with their import and delete ambiguous articles from laws and decrees, as they are a loophole that allows corruption and the application of peremptory judicial decisions by ministries.

A number of members called for reducing drug prices, working on stopping the migration of doctors from Syria, controlling the issue of central tenders in hospitals, intensifying supervision over them, and creating a body that takes care of the families of the martyrs.
