A 42-year-old man was sentenced to 12 days' imprisonment at Kwun Tong Magistracy today (22nd) for breaching the quarantine order.
A spokesman for the Department of Health said that the sentence can give the society very clear information, pointing out that violating the quarantine order is a criminal offence. The government will not tolerate those who violate the Regulations and strictly remind the public to abide by the Regulations.
As of today, a total of 45 people have been convicted by the court for violating the quarantine order, sentenced to a maximum of 3 months in prison or fined 15,000 yuan.
A 42-year-old man violated the quarantine order and was sentenced to immediate imprisonment for 12 days.

The 42-year-old man involved was sentenced to 12 days of immediate imprisonment at Kwun Tong Magistracy today for violating the "Regulations on Compulsory Quarantine of Certain Arrivals to Hong Kong" (Chapter 599C).
The man was issued a compulsory quarantine order earlier and must undergo compulsory quarantine at home for 14 days.
Before the quarantine order expired, without reasonable excuse and without the permission of authorized personnel, he left the quarantine site on March 24.
He was charged with violating sections 8(1) and 8(5) of the Regulations and was sentenced to immediate imprisonment for 12 days at Kwun Tong Magistracy today.
