Dr. Yassin Diab, Director of the Aleppo Poultry Facility, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent today that 3 billion pounds have been allocated to rehabilitate the entire facility and put the 36 barns into service, as a contract was signed with the General Company for Building and Reconstruction to rehabilitate the barns and put them in service, respectively.
He also pointed out that the first phase includes the rehabilitation of the seven barns dedicated to raising broilers and laying hens, caring for chicks, securing all the requirements for raising them, such as feed, medicines, vaccines, and technical equipment for heating, and placing the building in its appropriate health model, indicating that the infrastructure rehabilitation works include maintenance of the roads leading to the barns and the rehabilitation of the electrical system and network Water.
Diab explained that the facility's annual production of eggs before it stopped due to the war in 2012 was 40 million eggs and 450,000 chicks.
