- Has China's international power been altered by the Covid -19 crisis?

Alice EKMAN.

- The Chinese president has tried, since the emergence of the virus, to glorify the management of the crisis by the Communist Party, and more generally the presumed effectiveness of the Chinese authorities, through a vast communication campaign.

This choice has annoyed a growing number of countries, especially in Europe, which are also unhappy with the development of the situation in Hong Kong and in the province of Xinjiang.

But this irritation is not shared by all states, as some are receiving Chinese technology - for example, Lebanon has received Dahua thermal cameras, Kenya and Pakistan have received Huawei video conferencing equipment ... just as others countries are more and more reluctant to do so.

More than ever, China is a divisive power.
