The quantities of sifted and sterilized wheat in the branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Daraa have reached 4,500 tons since the beginning of the sifting operations last month.
The director of the branch, Eng. Ghazi Al-Nassif, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent today that the branch is ready to cover the needs of farmers from wheat seeds for the next agricultural season, stressing that the screening and sterilization operations are continuing and the branch has a stock of raw wheat of 18 thousand tons.
He added that the Daraa seed multiplication branch was shipped to the Agricultural Bank branches in the governorates of Raqqa, Aleppo, Latakia and Damascus, a quantity of wheat seeds amounted to 1,200 tons.
The marketed quantities of wheat to the Daraa seed multiplication branch reached 19,500 tons last season, compared to 17,289 tons in the previous season.
