Despite immediate surgery, he could suffer permanent damage.

Gmund - A 23-year-old local construction worker was seriously injured in a serious industrial accident yesterday at around 3 p.m. on a construction site in the Schuß district of Gmund.

According to the police, the construction worker was busy cutting styrofoam insulation at a circular saw when his right hand got into the trailing saw blade.

He suffered such severe injuries that he had to undergo an operation immediately after being admitted to the hospital.

As things stand at present, it cannot be ruled out that the construction worker will suffer permanent disabilities as a result of the accident. Due to the severity of the injuries, the Miesbach criminal police station took over the investigation to clarify the course of the accident.
