Houses shook and a large column of smoke was observed in the village of Kana, most of whose residents are Shiites.
A huge explosion took place today (Tuesday) in the village of Kana in southern Lebanon.
A large pillar of black smoke appears to be rising from the scene of the incident.
According to local reports, houses have been shaken across the village, but no casualties have been reported so far.
The media in the country of the cedars provided conflicting reports as to the cause of the explosion.
The Al-Miyadin news network, which is affiliated with the Hezbollah terrorist organization, claimed that it was a fire at a gas station.
Other media outlets reported that there was no gas station at all in the area where the blast occurred.
The village of Kana is considered one of the strongholds of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and most of its population is Shiite.
The village made headlines in the past following bombings by the Air Force that claimed the lives of dozens of its residents in two separate cases, after Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel from its territory.
If it is indeed an explosion of ammunition related to Hezbollah, it is a blatant violation of the 2006 ceasefire decision that Hezbollah is not allowed to hold forces and ammunition south of the Litani River.
