There is a confirmed corona case at the Ickinger Rainer-Maria-Rilke-Gymnasium.

The entire Q11 was quarantined at home on Tuesday morning.

Four teachers are also affected.

  • 75 pupils of the eleventh grade of the Ickinger Gymnasium have been sent into quarantine at home.

  • A schoolgirl tested positive for Corona, but according to the health department, she shows no symptoms.

  • "We are lucky in bad luck," says director Astrid Barbeau.

Icking

- A student in grade 11 at the Rainer-Maria-Rilke-Gymnasium tested positive for Corona.

Director Astrid Barbeau reacted immediately on Tuesday morning: She informed the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen health department of the case, the complete Q11 and four teachers were sent to quarantine a few minutes after school started.

Barbeau informed about the event around 7.45 a.m. by letter from parents: "We are confident that we will be able to cope with the situation with your understanding and the necessary calm."

75 students are in the eleventh grade

75 young people are in the eleventh grade of the Ickinger Gymnasium.

According to Barbeau, they will be trained in so-called distance classes from Wednesday.

"We are lucky in misfortune," said the head of studies in an interview with our newspaper.

"In the past few weeks, we have run through the process in-house several times in the event of an accident." And: "Since we have been implementing and documenting the hygiene framework plan precisely within the school since the beginning of lessons, we were able to forward information to the health department immediately after the notification the tracing of contacts can be used. "Although, according to the decision of the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs, there has been no mask requirement in class since Monday, many teachers and students at the Rilke-Gymnasium voluntarily decided to continue to wear mouth and nose protection throughout", adds Barbeau.

As usual, a 14-day quarantine period applies to Q11, said the spokeswoman for the district office, Marlis Peischer, on Tuesday afternoon.

“The Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen health department received the information about the test result this morning.” According to Peischer, 42 of the 75 high school students affected live in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district.

"Four teachers are also initially in quarantine - until it has been clarified whether they are category 1 or 2 contact persons," reported Peischer.

Infection unlikely, according to the district office, but ...

The so-called index case, ie the student who tested positive, "is a person who has no symptoms," said the spokeswoman for the authorities.

The young person took part in an event at the weekend, "at which, according to research by the health department, the rules on distance were observed," emphasizes Peischer.

“To be on the safe side, the person wore a mask in class on Monday and kept their distance from their classmates.” Therefore, infection of other students or the teacher is unlikely, “but it cannot be ruled out that the grade does not have to be quarantined”.

The 75 students in grade 11 affected “will be struck off at the invitation of the health department over the next few days,” said Peischer, explaining the further procedure.

Currently, 21 students from the southern school in Bad Tölz (middle school), 17 students from the Dietramszell middle school and, since Tuesday, 75 students from the Rainer-Maria-Rilke-Gymnasium in Icking are in quarantine in the district.
