  • The market town of Murnau is planning a new building area in Hechendorf.

  • The building committee has initiated the development plan.

  • However, there is a large biotope on the area.

Murnau

- The situation on the housing market remains tense.

In Murnau, attempts are being made to counteract this with community building projects.

Mention should be made of municipal housing on Längenfeldweg, where the topping-out ceremony was celebrated in December, social housing on Adalbert-Stifter-Straße, where the first handover of keys took place in February, and a cooperative model that is being planned on the James-Loeb site is.

Mayor Rolf Beuting (ÖDP / Bürgerforum) announced further projects, for example for young adults or families, before the local elections in March.

Municipality bought around 12,400 square meters of land

One of these projects has now been presented to the building committee.

To the north of the Aufeld street in the Hechendorf district, Markt Murnau has privately acquired around 12,400 square meters.

The town hall gave no information on the price when asked by the daily newspaper.

In the land use plan, the area is still classified as an agricultural area and is located outside.

If it is possible under planning law, further plots should be added to the development plan area.

The majority of the building committee voted for a new set of rules for the "In der Au" area.

And in the accelerated procedure.

The goal: to create “affordable housing for young families in the sense of a kind of local model”.

A change in the land use plan is to take place later.

Jones quarrels with the proposed resolution

Council member Veronika Jones (Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen) did not fit the phrase “affordable housing for young families in the sense of a kind of local model”.

The local politician emphasizes: “We have to think of all generations.” A local model is also clearly defined, with reference to appropriate guidelines.

Jones rejects a sale of the land and long leases.

She speaks out in favor of rentals.

She can also imagine building a cooperative.

The majority, however, waved through the administration's proposal for a resolution (“for young families in the sense of a kind of local model”).

Consider the owner's request

It was important to the city hall chief Beuting to “get the installation decision on track”.

You can later regulate whether you want to sell or keep the land or give it a long lease.

Lorenz Brey (CSU) emphasized: “It must be our goal to do something for the locals.” Franz Neuner (CSU) made it clear that the wishes of the previous owner had to be taken into account.

That dictates "decency and character".

According to the deputy manager Nina Herweck-Bockhorni, the seller wishes "that primarily locals should get a chance".

Large biotope

The approximately 12,400 square meters can probably not be completely built on.

Because around 5400 square meters are mapped as a biotope - a not inconsiderable area.

"The big hit doesn't succeed," says an insider.

Topic in the municipal council

The market town council will deal with the topic next Thursday, September 24th.

The committee may also deal with an urgent motion from the Greens on the subject of the local model.
