Poetry and popular singing in the Syrian coast is a special heritage color for the region, despite its intersection in a number of aspects with its counterparts in the mountains of Lebanon and Qalamoun.

According to Ibrahim, popular poetry is characterized by simplicity, spontaneity, transparency, ease of expression and distance from complexity, which made it close to the taste of the audience, pointing to its richness of elegant and graceful images, which sometimes parallels with its simplicity and spontaneity a lot of eloquent eloquent poetry.
Researcher Ibrahim mentioned that popular poetry in the mountains of the Syrian coast, the western Qalamoun mountains and the mountains of Lebanon contains all the objects of eloquent Arabic poetry, such as spinning, praise, pride, satire, enthusiasm (poetic antics), wisdom and reproach, and others, considering that the colors of singing between these regions are almost the same because of the proximity and similarity of the environment and conditions Living and affinity for dialects.
He touched on the types of folk songs in the coast, the most common and widespread, including Zajal, Skapa, Dalouna, Ataba, Mijana, Ma'ani, Qardi, Abu Zulf, and Mulia, explaining that folk art depends on the oboe, the muzzi, the flute, the rababa, the oud and the law.
It is noteworthy that Muhammad Ibrahim has poems published in local magazines and newspapers and a colloquial poetry collection under publication entitled (Path of the Moon).
