Residents have to live with buses

There are always complaints about the bus stop on Hugo-Brunninger-Straße in Gernlinden.

But not much will change.

Gernlinden residents feel disturbed by the noise of the running bus engine, and they also point out the pollution.

Now the Maisach municipal council has dealt with the matter again.

Result: Little can be changed.

In the submission of the administration on the agenda item, it is stated that the vehicles used all have the Euro 6 emissions standard. Everything is OK here.

It is explained that the driver cannot turn off the engine at the stop.

An automatic start-stop system is not installed in the vehicles.

In addition, the on-board computer and thus ticket sales only work when the engine is running.

But after consultation with the local public transport expert in the district office, Hermann Seifert, the timetable for line 875 was slightly changed.

Between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. while waiting for the S 3, the bus only stands at the bus stop for six (instead of eight) minutes.

From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. it's four (instead of five) minutes.

A positive side effect of this change is that the transition at Strasserwinkel to the 872 bus line will increase from two to four or from two to three minutes.

Transfer time is reduced

The municipal council members welcomed the fact that the bus has stopped at the bus stop for a shorter time.

But this reduces the transfer time between the S-Bahn and bus, said Barbara Helmers (Greens), consultant for mobility in public spaces.

For old people, wheelchair users and parents with prams, it might then be impossible to catch up.

Mayor Hans Seidl (CSU) took up the objection.

A passenger survey will take place soon.

This was actually planned for October, but they want to wait for the new roundabout (connecting the small business area) to go into operation in order to have “normal” traffic flows.

The survey should now take place in November.

And then you will also ask how the passengers are coping with the transfer times.

For the time being, the municipal council only made one decision: the stop should remain at its current location.

It will not be moved.
