2020-09-23T19:02:02.193Z

The Minister of Health Olivier Véran announced the reduction of the number of spectators to 1,000 people in eleven cities, including Paris.

The maximum level for major events will be lowered to 1,000 people, against 5,000 so far, in the eleven metropolises (Bordeaux, Lyon, Nice, Lille, Toulouse, Saint-Étienne, Rennes, Rouen, Grenoble, Paris) classified in " enhanced alert zone ”because of the intense circulation of the coronavirus, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran announced on Wednesday.

This measure, which will apply "from Saturday at the end of a consultation between the prefect and the local elected officials", should in particular concern the tennis tournament of Roland-Garros, which will begin Sunday, four months later than its usual programming, and had already planned to reduce its tonnage to 5,000 spectators.
