On October 23, 2019, Chen Tongjia's 29-month sentence for four crimes of money laundering finally expired.

Pan Xiaoying’s mother can’t wait. In an interview with "Hong Kong 01" today, she said that the action is the most practical. "Bowing is useless, and the most important thing is that it must be implemented. (Going to Taiwan to surrender) is important first. It must be done!"
Pan Xiaoying’s mother denounced that it has been more than two years since Chen Tongjia killed her daughter. Last year, she was also released from prison for money laundering crimes, but she never surrendered. She was extremely disappointed with Chen Gao, "You have a good conscience? Mother Pan said that she had written to Pastor Guan Haoming in the past one or two months, asking him to persuade Chen Tongzhu to surrender to Taiwan. Guan Haoming once called and replied in person, saying that Chen Tongjia would surrender, but he had to wait for the right time. Never mentioned the actual days.
Later, Pan's mother wrote again, but the other party did not reply again.
