The companies affiliated with the public institutions for engineering industries recorded production of more than 49.7 billion pounds during the first eight months of this year, with an implementation rate of 104 percent of the production plan, and a development rate of 184 percent over the same period last year.

According to the production and marketing report, which Sana Economic obtained a copy of, the Damascus Cables Company achieved the highest production value among the companies at about 22.3 billion pounds, followed by the Hama Steel Company with more than 19.4 billion pounds, then Aleppo cables with a value of 3.3 billion pounds, the metal constructions 3 billion, then the Barada Company for Metal Industries 744.66 One million pounds, so the batteries are about 383.2 million pounds, while the production value of the Canar Manufacturing Company amounted to 360 million pounds, and the Sironex company recorded a production of 32 million pounds, and the report indicated that the wood company did not record any production value because the production process was stopped in it, as well as the tractor company for not being able to supply tractor parts because of Conditions of the blockade on the country.

In terms of sales, the report showed that the corporation’s companies recorded sales amounting to 49.3 billion pounds, with an implementation rate of 103 percent, the highest in Damascus cables with a value of more than 21 billion pounds, followed by Hama Steel Company with a value of 20.2 billion pounds, Aleppo cables with 3.3 billion pounds, then metal constructions with a value that exceeded 3 billion pounds and the remaining sales were distributed to other companies.

In a similar statement, the General Director of the Corporation, Eng. Asaad Warda, pointed out that there is difficulty in securing raw materials and spare parts in addition to the high prices due to not buying directly from the manufacturing companies as a result of the unjust siege conditions on our country, which led to the high costs of production inputs in addition to the difficulty of domestic shipping and its high wages.

He added: The corporation’s companies face other difficulties, represented by the decrease in electrical tension from the main network and its interruption sometimes, in addition to the shortage of technical and expert workers, the high value of debts on the public sector, and the lack of necessary transportation for most companies.

In order to enable companies to increase their production and marketing capabilities, Warda requested to provide the necessary scrap to work from Hama Steel Company and to find a mechanism to address the issue of interest and fines arising from loans previously taken from the Commercial Bank of Syria to support the producing companies and to reduce the financial burden on them in addition to exempting them from all fees and taxes on machinery and spare parts. And the production inputs, support for the stability of the electric current in actual working days, and the improvement of the material situation of the workers by opening salary ceilings and raising the value of the meal.
