Fürstenfeldbruck

- "But we would have bought it like that," assured Bruck's Lord Mayor Erich Raff. He thanked all parliamentary groups for their support.

"Despite Corona, this edition has not been deleted." Now you can move around the city in an environmentally friendly way in the best sense of the word.

The cargo bikes - two different models - are available at the city library and at the town hall branch on Niederbronnerweg 3. According to Claudia Gessner, the bicycle traffic officer of the major district town, lending is uncomplicated.

“Online or by phone via the wheelhouse center.” The rental period is flexible, but limited to three days so that as many as possible can rent the bikes.

The cargo two-wheelers can even be booked for a whole weekend.

Maximum 80 kilograms

The only requirement: The users must ensure that the load that the trailer has to carry is not too heavy.

In addition to the cyclist, a maximum of 80 kilograms may be packed on top - regardless of whether a child is traveling as a passenger, so to speak, or a somewhat more extensive purchase has to be transported home.

You should also keep an eye on the range of the electrical assistance, which is around 40 to 50 kilometers.

After the first test ride, however, the bicycle officer had another tip for anyone who is not that familiar with a cargo bike.

"You shouldn't get on like that and start cycling." The vehicle requires a certain amount of practice.

The bikes are insured through the city because they are sometimes used by town hall employees.

As a precaution, Gessner points out one thing: “The driver is still responsible for his own behavior in traffic.” Helmet is not compulsory, but it is advisable.

For Gessner, it is quite conceivable that the cargo bike fleet will be expanded in the future.

But that depends on the number of loans.

"First of all we want to wait from the city to see how the offer is accepted."
