Drug scandal: In Munich, the public prosecutor's office is investigating several officials.
Now there were several house searches.
Munich - The Munich I Public Prosecutor's Office and the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office have been investigating officers of the Munich Police Headquarters since mid-July 2018, mainly on suspicion of violations of the Narcotics Act.
In particular, reference may be made to the press releases of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office of February 18, 2020 (04/2020) and September 23, 2020 (24/2020).
For this reason, on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020, the apartments and affected rooms in the respective offices of the accused officials were searched from 6:00 a.m. on the basis of the existing resolutions.
A total of 9 police officers from the Munich police headquarters were affected by this measure.
After completion of the first criminal police measures, the intention is to open disciplinary proceedings for the accused.
The Munich police chief Hubertus Andrä: “For me, the behavior of the police officers concerned in this room is absolutely unacceptable and, if the allegations are really confirmed, must be punished with all legal severity.
We as police officers have a special position in the public due to our task, which must always be respected.
It can definitely not be tolerated that, as the previous investigative situation suggests, crimes were knowingly committed by employees of our police headquarters.
In particular, I trust the independent and neutral investigative work of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office, which, together with the Munich I public prosecutor's office, will do everything in its power to clarify the matter as precisely as possible. "
