How do we go about rating a tourist hotel?
It all depends first of all on the category in which it falls!
In France, starred hotels (from 3 to 5 stars in our selections) meet very specific specifications (240 points!) Established by Atout France, the national tourism development agency to which hoteliers apply before to be inspected by COFRAC (French Accreditation Committee).
Abroad, the conditions for awarding stars vary from country to country.
The award of stars is also the result of a voluntary process on the part of establishment owners.
A hotel can therefore correspond in its offer of services to a 4-star, without having them.
