The renovation of the mint building has been completed.

Even if some trades add more to the account in the final invoice than planned, the budgeted budget is not exceeded.

Schongau

- The list of trades that cause additional costs is long.

The fact that the “Münzgebäude” construction site has not become a bottomless pit is thanks to the careful planning of the architect and the municipal building authorities.

They had planned a buffer.

Robert Thomas, Head of Building Construction at the city of Schongau, was able to bring the Schongau city council good news: "We are assuming that this will be a precision landing."

At around 285,000 euros, for example, the carpentry trade is around 26,000 euros above the cost calculation.

The directorial work that arose during the renovation of the roof structure in accordance with the listed buildings had a particularly significant impact there.

“After opening the roof structure, we couldn't see everything from the start, we didn't know what the current state was.” The surprise box cost more than expected.

The additional costs are, however, covered by the so-called risk provision.

Additional costs for some work

Additional costs also for the painting work: They cost around 10,000 euros more, the plan was 82,000 euros.

The additional costs result from changes in the mass of the surfaces to be sanded.

The tile work will be around 3500 euros more expensive (planned: 30,000 euros).

When it comes to plastering, it's a little more: 15,000 euros are added to the order total of around 91,000 euros.

The locksmith work (planned: around 101,000 euros) is around 6,000 euros more.

Drywall: 2,300 euros more (planned: 54,000 euros).

Spengler: around 8,100 euros more (planned: 39,000 euros).

The final invoice is still missing for one trade

According to Robert Thomas, the final invoice is only missing for one trade: plumbing.

“I don't expect any big surprises here.” And the emergency budget is currently still 3000 euros.

In addition to the planned money buffer, there is also the fact that some trades have not exhausted the full budget with their invoices.

It is therefore clear: The city of Schongau can ultimately remain within the planned budget of 2.88 million euros.

On top of that comes around 950,000 euros that have been estimated for the outdoor facilities.
