A few hours after the fire that broke out in the fire house as a result of a short circuit, the automatic oven in the Mezzeh area of Western Villas returned to work after repairing one of the damaged lines as a result of burning, with a production capacity of about 15 tons.
In a statement to SANA’s delegate after maintaining the line, the head of the technical workshop in the bakery, Muhammad Khair Arafa, confirmed that the technical workshops and workers in the bakery were able, after continuous work that lasted for hours, from preparing the second line in the oven and the production process began at 7:30 pm to secure bread for the citizens.
For his part, the warehouse keeper at the bakery, Aws Daoud, said that the fire was controlled very quickly and the workers were able to erase the effects of the fire and things began to return to normal in the oven after one of the damaged lines was put into operation.
According to the superintendent of the bakery production, Muhammad Al-Khatib, the greatest damage was caused to the electrical wires on the second line, and the technical workshop, with the help of the oven workers, was able to repair the damage and provide the replacement parts that he needed, and start production and start distributing bread material to citizens of the same quality that he was working with.
The Director of Technical Affairs at the Syrian Establishment for Bakeries, Eng. Yusef Uqla, said in a similar statement that all necessary measures have been taken to control the fire and mitigate the damage to the lines operating in the bakery, and work continues to rehabilitate the other line that was damaged and return it to service and began work with a production capacity of about 15 tons Note that the total capacity of the informant reaches 35 tons, confirming at the same time that work is underway on preparing the second line so that it will return to work within 24 hours at most.
Assistant Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Engineer Rifat Suleiman indicated that the ministry is keen to secure bread for citizens, which required the mobilization of the workshops of the General Company for Bakeries in cooperation with private workshops in Damascus Governorate to clean the place and the damaged line, and to initiate rehabilitation of the line and its return to work and production after the fire.
Suleiman confirmed that the quality of the loaf is the primary concern of the General Company for Bakeries, after the adoption of the distribution of bread via the electronic card.
