In the video: Rabbi Yosef calls for synagogues to be closed due to rising morbidity (Walla! NEWS system)
Rabbi David Yosef, a member of the Shas Council of Sages and one of the senior ultra-Orthodox rabbis, today (Wednesday) called for the closure of synagogues "immediately", after opposing their closure before Yom Kippur yesterday. Terrible.
The rabbi added that "all churches and seminaries should be closed immediately. Praying and studying only in the open space, things have never been. In previous generations there were epidemics, the great men of Israel did it. It is a sacred duty for all of us to immediately close all synagogues, if "It is possible to pray in the open space with masks and keeping distance, if not - pray in units. This also applies to Yom Kippur."
Rabbi Yosef's entourage said he was updated this morning by party chairman Minister Aryeh Deri on the morbidity and data presented yesterday in the Corona Cabinet and "asked to make the public an important rabbinical call before announcing the general closure."
