Russia's permanent representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Alexander Shulgin, announced that his country is waiting for Germany for a response to its request on the case of Russian politician Alexei Navalny within ten days.
"The letter sent by the Russian side to the German mission to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons includes a request to provide comprehensive information, including medical test results, biological materials and other clinical samples for Navalny, under the Chemical Weapons Treaty," Shulgin said in a statement.
Schulgen added that "Germany is obligated under the treaty to provide this information within a period of time not exceeding ten days," explaining that Russia will take the German response into account when making decisions about its next steps.
And Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced yesterday that Moscow is facing some difficulties in the investigation of the Navalny case, which Germany claims was poisoned, noting that Berlin has not provided any information on this case.
