Amos Glazer (75) from Petah Tikva died last week after contracting the corona virus.

He was known in the city as a veteran Dan driver and as associated with the Chabad community in the city. Glazer lost his son Tamir in the helicopter disaster in 1997.

The late Glazer contracted the virus about a month ago, he was hospitalized but his health deteriorated rapidly and last week, as mentioned, he passed away. Daughter Vicky said: “It is very difficult.

We do not know how he contracted it.

I'm in a lot of pain right now.

It all happened so fast, it was just shocking. "Glazer left behind his daughter Vicky and sons Dvir and Uri.

In addition, Glazer was a bereaved father after losing his son, the late Sergeant Major Tamar Glazer, in the helicopter disaster. Tamir enlisted in the IDF in 1992 and served in the Air Force as a helicopter mechanic.

He signed a permanent contract and was due to be released at the end of February 1997. On February 4, 1997, the helicopter disaster occurred when two Yasur helicopters, which were on their way to operational activity in Lebanon, collided with each other over the rest of the settlement.

The 73 fighters who were in the helicopters were killed, including Tamir.

He was buried in the military cemetery in Holon.

Journalist Zvi Tessler eulogized him: "Amos Glazer, dear Dan driver who was all kindness and giving. Thanks to the trips with him we became a kind of family. All his life he missed his late son Tamir, who fell in the helicopter disaster.

I met him a few months ago on the bus.

Insisted he was not afraid of Corona and kept going and doing what he loved so much.

He contracted, was hospitalized and died.

May his memory be blessed and may the animal give it to his heart. "
