Salmiya Club won the volleyball league championship for the junior category, which recently concluded its competition in Tartous, after defeating its neighbor Tildra in the final match by three sets to one.
Salamiya team, despite losing in the first round to Tildra, was able to turn the match against the match in the final and resolve the match in his favor thanks to the experience of his players, who were distinguished in the overwhelming dispatch and collective play, so that the team retained the title that it won last year.
Salamiya played in the first round in the first group, where it lost to Tildra 1-3 and defeated Al-Soda 3-2 and Deir Ali 3-0, while Tildra led the group by beating Al-Souda 3-1 and Deir Ali 3-0, and they both qualified for the second round.
In the semi-finals, Tildra defeated Golan 3-0 and Salmiya defeated Deir Atiyah 3-2, and they went up to the final match, which ended in Salmiya, 3-1.
The president of Salamiya Club Safwan Seifo explained to the SANA sports reporter that the junior team achieved what was required of it and was able to retain the title thanks to the high skills of the players, the experience of the coach and the activity of the administrative and training staff, indicating that volleyball is one of the advanced games in the club and it competes for the title of all local tournaments, whether in the category of males or Females although there is no indoor training hall.
Salamiya coach Hassan Al-Hamwi pointed out that the team performed well in all the tournament matches, but suffered greatly against Tildura, who was one of the best teams in the tournament and had distinguished players, indicating that the love of the game, team performance and commitment to the coach's instructions were the main reasons for our team winning the championship title.
Al-Hamwi pointed out that the preparation for the tournament was not ideal due to the suspension of training for a long time as a result of the suspension of sports activity for several months, noting that the exercises were intensified a few days before the tournament, which contributed to the team's reaching an acceptable technical and physical readiness and the increase in the performance of the players with each match in the league.
For his part, Tildura coach Karim Yazigi indicated that his team deserved to win the title because the performance of its players was excellent, but there was no success in the final match in front of Salamiyah as a result of fatigue and lack of focus, indicating that his team includes a lot of materials and promising talents of young ages, so I expect him to compete for the title Next season.
