New data from Alon Headquarters reveals: 41% of Israelis violated isolation and thousands more provided partial information in investigations • Senior officials: "An alarming phenomenon that has no solution"

New data shows that a significant proportion of Israelis who have been in Corona do not report truth about those who were in contact with them, and many violate the isolation guidelines.

Data collected at the Alon headquarters in the Home Front Command and known to all those involved in Corona in the government and the health system, it appears that about 41 percent of Israelis violated the isolation they were obliged to stay in this week.

This figure refers to September 20, Sunday of this week, when about 340,000 Israelis were supposed to be in solitary confinement, but it turns out that about 140,000 of them did so in part or not at all.

Information on isolation violations was collected from a variety of sources.

Senior officials said similar data were available for other days, and that the extent of the isolation violations was "very worrying".

According to them, there is no information on the proportion of isolated people who are also active patients in Corona, but this is a "very worrying phenomenon, which has no solution."

Among the main reasons for this - the poor enforcement of the isolation and the lenient punishment for those who violate the guidelines.

It turns out that the police manage to reach only about half a percent of the isolation debtors on average every day.

The fine received by those caught violating the isolation conditions - NIS 5,000 - is also very low compared to the rest of the world, and does not deter the continuation of the phenomenon.

But the lack of cooperation between the Israelis and the Corona's guidelines does not end there.

A disturbing proportion of those infected in Corona do not provide full and accurate details of those who came in contact with them before being verified blue.

This is a critical issue: epidemiological investigations are the crucial component in amputating the chains of infection, and their success depends on the cooperation of citizens.

The investigation was designed to locate the early contacts that the patients had to make it possible to isolate and check them as well, and in case they also became infected - to check and isolate those who came in contact with them.

Mislead the researchers

Alon Headquarters was established in the Home Front Command for precisely this purpose.

The headquarters, which was declared operational this week, was given responsibility for carrying out and transporting the tests and for managing the hotel and isolation facilities, but the core of its work is the system of cutting off the chain of infection.

The hope is that by conducting thousands of investigations a day, and subsequently rapid isolation of the contacts, it will be possible to reduce the level of morbidity or at least control it and prevent its spread.

For this process to be successful, full cooperation from the public is required.

The data collected show that a very high proportion of Israelis refrain from providing complete information, apparently so as not to isolate their families, friends and colleagues at work.

Studies conducted in recent months around the world show that an effective investigation should report between 18 and 40 contacts that the patient had before being exposed as verified.

The data in Israel are supposed to be similar, but those that report are much lower.

As of September 21, Monday of this week, of all the epidemiological investigations conducted, 43.2 percent reported having a meeting with between one and four people;

22.4 percent reported being in contact with 9-5 people;

13.4 percent reported being in contact with 10 or more people;

And 21 percent claimed they had not been in contact with anyone.

Those involved in the epidemiological investigation system have no doubt that the information provided in many cases is intentionally partial and misleading.

"Whoever hides the information from us does not help his family or friends - he endangers them, and in this way he endangers their family and friends," says Brigadier General Nissan Davidi, commander of Alon Headquarters.

Yesterday, Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi visited Alon's headquarters, and during his visit he was presented with these data. At the end of the visit, the chief of staff hinted at this, saying: "This machine you built here is very successful, but its full effectiveness is "Without this behavior, the effectiveness of this machine is either significantly harmed or harmed."

Kochavi described the fight against the Corona as a "top priority" of the IDF and the Home Front Command. "We will not spare anything - no manpower, no developers, no means of development, no resources and no attention to contribute to the defeat of the Corona virus.

It is a top priority in its importance, but its success rests on an elementary thing called culture, discipline and compliance with guidelines. "
