Cramming, cramming, cramming: The managing director of VG Wartenberg, Werner Christofori, has been promoted to senior board member. We talked to him about going back to school.
Wartenberg / Taufkirchen - The manager of VG Wartenberg, Werner Christofori, has risen.
Mayor Christian Pröbst announced in the Wartenberg market council that Christofori had passed the examination for the senior administrative council.
For this he got a present from the community chief and a lot of applause from the committee.
“It was no picnic,” said Christofori with a satisfied expression after intensive training.
In 2018, the 52-year-old father of two adult children (daughter and son), who lives in Taufkirchen, moved from the Isen town hall to Wartenberg.
We spoke with him.
Congratulations on the promotion, Mr. Christofori. It was no picnic, you said.
No, that's not it either.
The exam content was very in-depth.
There were eight modules such as project and financial management, personnel development and procedural law.
The advanced training went through the Bavarian Administration School.
For example, I was in Regen, Riedenburg and Munich, the modules lasted from two days to a week.
Have you ever felt like a student again?
It was a long time ago when I was a student, but yes.
Just so concentrated and compact, it is not comparable to school or university.
How much did you have to cram?
Before the exam, I was allowed to take a few days off.
Thank god my family supported me a lot.
Did your wife question you at home, or how should I imagine that?
(laughs) She didn't question me now, I did that myself.
I learned well at my desk.
Before that it had to be empty in order to be able to expand the entire legal texts.
There is also internet research.
Incidentally, there were up to 180 presentation slides for learning per class day.
The lessons ran completely on weekdays. Hasn't the work piled up in the office in the town hall?
It was okay.
I was able to do a lot of things on the side with my cell phone, or I would also check my cell phone in the evening.
In addition, I was represented by my colleagues in the Council meetings.
How is your new rank, the senior administrator, classified on the civil service scale?
So far I was a member of the board of directors.
My ascent now corresponds to the former higher service.
I am now in the fourth qualification level, that is the highest level that is possible in the Wartenberg administrative community.
That is perhaps roughly comparable to the senior teacher training council.
At that time, my position in Wartenberg was already advertised as a senior board member.
