(CNN Spanish) -

Carla Morrison presented "Anxiety" on Monday.

A theme with which she opens an intimate chapter of her life and tells her story of what it is like to live with this condition.

The theme represents the return of Carla Morrison to composition and music.

And its launch during the coronavirus pandemic is no accident.

I did the task of writing the song, and when all this pandemic happened I felt that it was a perfect moment to get it out.

Because I think we are all experiencing a lot of uncertainty, a lot of fear, a lot of confusion, "the singer-songwriter told Zona Pop CNN in an interview from Paris.

At the beginning of the song, Morrison tells how his departure from music was: «on the trip I lost my truth.

Being a star I stopped shining.

And voices began to speak.

My subconscious began to attack.

Opening up with you like this was not easy but I accepted the risk.

In a modern individualistic world, connecting is essential, accepting our ailments, since many of us experience anxiety, and when what we experience becomes visible and we discover that it has a name and we identify it, we feel less alone.

Since I was 9 years old I have lived with anxiety and this year more than ever.

Accepting our problems is the first step in dealing with and understanding them.

In a world where distraction abounds, non-existent perfection is pressing, and uncertainty has become our daily bread, identifying what lies in wait for us can be a great step towards our healing.

How «Anxiety» was born

Morrison wrote the song in November and, although anxiety is something that lives constantly - since the age of nine - the three-time Latin Grammy winner confesses that it was difficult for her to translate the feeling into words.

«Around November I took on the task of making the song and I did it with my constant collaborators who are Alejandro Jiménez and Demián Jiménez.

We started to write the song and it was very interesting for me, because it is something that I have lived constantly, that was very difficult for me to translate into lyrics, "says Morrison.

«It took me about two weeks to get into that state and I said well, you are so anxious, how difficult can it be?

But it is very strong because anxiety is not touched, but it is felt, it is lived.

It's horrible, ”she reveals.

“It was very strong for me to realize it and open up that way too, because you don't want to tell people that you have these problems.

At the same time, it is very healing and very liberating for people to listen: 'hey, whoever I listen to also gets what happens to me.

That is super beautiful ».

The video for «Anxiety» was recorded in Lithuania

The production was accompanied by a video clip directed by Colin Solal Cardo.

Morrison says that the recording was made during the pandemic, in June, but they chose to record in Lithuania due to the few confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country.

The images show Morrison in a rural setting and being surrounded and handled by a series of people who amount to the thoughts of anxiety.

The mental health campaign

As part of the "Anxiety" presentation, Morrison will be broadcasting live on his Instagram account with Paula Sinisterra, therapist and part of the "Pretty Mental" podcast.
