The Hong Kong Breast Cancer Database, established by the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation, announced today (24th) a research report. The study covered data from more than 17,000 breast cancer patients and found that the accuracy of 2D mammography alone was as high as 85.2%; if in 2D After the mammography examination, the accuracy of the ultrasound scan is closer to 95%.

Professor Zhaoying Zhu from the Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Prince of Wales Hospital pointed out that women should undergo breast health examinations every two years from the age of 40. If 3D mammography is used, breast tissue photos can be taken from multiple angles. This can effectively distinguish different breast structures and make the results more accurate.

The chairman of the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation Huo He Qihua suggested that the government conduct regular screenings for high-risk women; consider pilot projects in areas with lower incomes, higher rates of advanced breast cancer, and lower screening rates.

Professor Zhu Zhaoying pointed out that women should undergo breast health check every two years since they are 40 years old.
