Abbas: The Palestinian people will not surrender until they obtain their legitimate rights

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed that the Palestinian people will not kneel and will not surrender until they obtain their legitimate and inalienable rights, on top of which is the establishment of their independent state, calling on the international community to hold a conference to reach a settlement of the Palestinian issue on the basis of international legitimacy decisions that ensure an end to the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian people obtain their legitimate rights. And the establishment of his independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Abbas said during a speech today via video to the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly: “The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, must begin, in cooperation with the International Quartet and the Security Council, arrangements for holding a full-fledged international conference with the participation of all concerned parties, starting from the beginning of next year, with the aim of settling the issue. The Palestinian people are based on international law, international legitimacy, and specific references that lead to the end of the occupation and the Palestinian people gain their freedom and independence in their state with Jerusalem as its capital on the line of June 4, 1967, and resolve all final status issues, foremost among which is the refugee issue based on Resolution 194.

Abbas reiterated his assertion that the Palestine Liberation Organization has not authorized anyone to talk or negotiate in the name of the Palestinian people, who will not kneel and will not surrender until they obtain their legitimate and inalienable rights, chief among them the establishment of their independent state.

Abbas stressed that the Palestinians will continue their struggle under the banner of national unity until all plots and plots aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause are dropped, pointing out that the Israeli occupation continues its violations and crimes against the Palestinian people through systematic killing, arrest campaigns and demolishing homes, especially in the occupied city of Jerusalem, with the aim of changing its character and identity and attacking Its Islamic and Christian sanctities, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque, undermine any chance for an independent Palestinian state.
