During his speech at the UN General Assembly tonight (Friday), Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen condemned the normalization agreements signed between the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain with Israel.

As part of the annual event, he called for a conference after the elections in the United States for starting negotiations "aimed at ending the occupation."

During the event, which took place prerecorded speeches, said "I call on the UN Secretary General to begin preparations in cooperation with the Security Council and the Quartet to convene a conference International in early 2021 to start serious negotiations based on clear principles ".

As for the normalization agreements, Abu Mazen claimed that they violated the Arab peace initiative.

"We have never asked anyone to negotiate on our behalf.

"The only way to achieve peace is to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital," Abu Mazen said. Later, the PA chairman attacked Israel and the Trump plan.

"Israel, with the support of the current US administration, has preferred over negotiations the Century deal in which it plans to annex 33 percent of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

The Palestinian president noted that he had dedicated his life to trying to achieve peace with Israel.

"We agreed to the Arab peace initiative that guarantees normalization with all Arab countries after the end of the occupation. What did Israel do? Violated all agreements and undermined the two-state solution," Abu Mazen said.

"Israel desecrated the Christian and Muslim holy places in Jerusalem - especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Abu Mazen's remarks against the normalization agreements come a month after he attacked the agreements at the Palestinian leadership conference.

At the conference, attended by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, Abu Mazen said that the agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates was a "stab in the back."

Abu Mazen clarified that he strongly opposes the normalization of Arab states' relations with Israel.

"Normalization is an Arab issue that the Arabs and Muslims agreed on in the Arab Peace Initiative in 2002," said the Palestinian Authority chairman.
