President Alberto Fernández criticized the Supreme Court for "not understanding the dimension of the problem" of gender violence and assured that the Justice "does not want to assume the need that some have to deconstruct themselves."

He said it this Friday at noon, during the presentation of

the Accompany Program

, which seeks to "promote the autonomy of women and LGBTI + who are at risk of gender-based violence," it was officially reported.

"The Micaela law rebuilds us to understand the harmful effects of gender violence.

I see with provocation that in the federal state, two of the three branches (Executive and Legislative) have made progress in implementing that law

, but in the Judicial Branch we have asked the President of the Court (Carlos Rosenkrantz) to please deal with the issue and we only received silence, "said the president, who led the act by videoconference from the residence of Olivos together with the Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity, Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta.

"If the Justice does not understand the dimension of the problem and

does not want to assume the need that some have to deconstruct themselves

, we are in a problem. We are in the 21st century and there is no possibility of being distracted by gender inequality," he added the head of state.

And he added, in that sense: "First we must preserve the victim. And the second thing is to take care of the perpetrator. For that, Justice has to do its part."

The Accompany program

According to the Government, Acompañar will provide "financial assistance and comprehensive support" to people who are at risk of gender violence, and will have an

investment of almost 4,500 million pesos

.

The program is part of the National Action Plan against Gender-Based Violence 2020-2022, which "is part of the new paradigm of comprehensive approach to violence", and contemplates "promoting public policies to create material conditions that guarantee that the people and groups most affected by gender violence can develop an autonomous life project ".

It will be implemented in conjunction with Anses and through agreements that will be signed with the provinces and municipalities, which will become Accompaniment Units.

The actions included in the program are

economic support equivalent to the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Salary for a period of six

consecutive

months

to women and LGBTI + people who are at risk;

and comprehensive support and access to psychosocial strengthening devices, in coordination with the provincial and local governments.
